Sherborn School District’s student-to-teacher ratio rose by 10.3% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Sherborn School District rose by 10.3% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 403 students being taught by 31.3 teachers in Sherborn School District, which covers schools within Norfolk County and has a main office in Dover. That's an average of 12.9 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Sherborn School District had 391 students and 33.5 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

However, the state is facing a teacher shortage, just like the rest of the U.S. NewsNation reported that the state was offering emergency teaching licenses to educators who only had bachelor’s degrees, in an effort to get more teachers into schools.
