The ratio of students to teachers in Sharon Public Schools District fell by 9.1% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 3,537 students being taught by 271.3 teachers in Sharon Public Schools District, which covers schools within Norfolk County and has a main office in Sharon. That's an average of 13 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Sharon Public Schools District had 3,493 students and 244.8 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
