The ratio of students to teachers in Holbrook Public Schools District rose by 4.6% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 1,286 students being taught by 93.7 teachers in Holbrook Public Schools District, which covers schools within Norfolk County and has a main office in Holbrook. That's an average of 13.7 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Holbrook Public Schools District had 1,268 students and 96.7 teachers on staff.

However, the state is facing a teacher shortage, just like the rest of the U.S. NewsNation reported that the state was offering emergency teaching licenses to educators who only had bachelor’s degrees, in an effort to get more teachers into schools.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
