The ratio of students to teachers in Dover Public Schools District fell by 1.7% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 489 students being taught by 41 teachers in Dover Public Schools District, which covers schools within Norfolk County and has a main office in Dover. That's an average of 11.9 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Dover Public Schools District had 475 students and 39.1 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
