The ratio of students to teachers in Quincy Public Schools District remained unchanged in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 9,404 students being taught by 727 teachers in Quincy Public Schools District, which covers schools within Norfolk County and has a main office in Quincy. That's an average of 12.9 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Quincy Public Schools District had 9,480 students and 737.2 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
