Mayor Charles C. Kokoros is excited to announce the Town of Braintree is renaming the Sunset Lake Summer Concert Series in honor of the late Nelson Chin. The concerts which are sponsored by the Braintree Electric Light Department will now officially be called the Nelson Chin Summer Concert Series.
“I feel it is more than appropriate to rename the summer concerts in Nelson’s honor,” said Mayor Kokoros. “He never missed a concert and could always be seen with the biggest smile on his face while he listened to the music and spent time talking with residents. I would like to thank BELD Board Member Jim Reagan for proposing this wonderful idea.”
The concert series held at Sunset Lake runs from July to August and host bands and performers from across the state.
“I am honored to join in the naming of the summer concert series in memory of Nelson Chin,” said BELD Board Member Jim Reagan. “I believe in doing so that we enshrine his love of our community and its traditions.”
The last concert at Sunset Lake is being held tonight, August 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
“I would also like to thank all the BELD Commissioners for their continued support in funding the concert series,” said Mayor Kokoros.
