The New England Patriots have released cornerback Miles Battle and offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes, the team announced on December 29, 2025.
Miles Battle, age 25, joined the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in May 2024 after playing college football at Utah. He was released by Kansas City following training camp and later signed to the Patriots’ practice squad in October 2024. Battle was promoted to New England’s active roster in January 2025 and made his NFL debut in the season finale against Buffalo, recording two tackles and three passes defensed. After being released at the end of training camp this past summer, he returned to the practice squad before being elevated for a game against Tennessee in October. He was signed again to the active roster in late November and appeared in five games for New England, making three total tackles.
Brenden Jaimes, age 26, joined New England’s practice squad on September 1, 2025. He was called up for games against Carolina and the New York Giants during the season and played on special teams. Jaimes was added to the Patriots’ active roster on December 23, 2025. He entered the league as a fifth-round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. Earlier this year, he signed with Tennessee as an unrestricted free agent but was released before the regular season began. Over his career so far, Jaimes has played in 48 regular-season games with three starts at center during the 2023 season and has participated in two postseason contests.
