The New England Patriots secured a decisive 42-10 victory over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, marking their 13th win of the 2025 season and completing an undefeated 8-0 record on the road. This achievement is only the third time in franchise history that the Patriots have finished a season without a road loss, previously accomplished in 2007 and 2016.
Despite missing several key players due to injuries, the Patriots dominated from the outset. Quarterback Drake Maye delivered a standout performance, throwing four touchdowns in the first half with a passer rating of 156.5. He was substituted in the third quarter after recording his fifth touchdown pass of the day. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs contributed significantly with over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown, stepping up amid absences from Mack Hollins and Kayshon Boutte.
The Patriots offense was effective both through passing and rushing plays, while their defense forced an early turnover and consistently limited the Jets’ offensive production. Jaylinn Hawkins recorded his third interception of the year, tying him for team lead with Marcus Jones.
Maye led five consecutive touchdown drives to start the game, including scoring passes to Austin Hooper, Rhamondre Stevenson (who also scored on a run), Hunter Henry, Efton Chism III—who made his first career reception—and Diggs. The Patriots’ opening drive lasted seven plays for 61 yards; they did not face a third down until later in the game.
The Jets managed just three points in response during the first half before Breece Hall’s long touchdown run early in the fourth quarter brought their total to double digits. By halftime, New England had scored touchdowns on all five possessions and led 35-3.
Drake Maye became only the fourth quarterback in team history to throw five touchdown passes in one game. He completed 19-of-21 passes for 256 yards before being replaced by backup Josh Dobbs late in the third quarter.
With this win, New England improved its record to 13-3 and remains competitive for both conference and division titles as they await results from other games to determine if they have clinched the AFC East or need another victory next week against Miami Dolphins to secure it.
“It was another impressive road victory, and the most lopsided win of the season for the Patriots. They’ll hope to ride that momentum into Week 18 against the Dolphins and onto the postseason. Maye looked every bit the MVP candidate, while it was just the kind of confidence-inspiring win that can serve as a springboard into January.”
