Northeastern women’s track breaks school and meet record in 4x800m relay

The Northeastern women’s track and field team concluded its indoor season at the New England Championships in Boston, highlighted by a record-breaking win in the 4×800 meter relay. The relay team, consisting of freshman Lola Satre Morales, senior Stephanie Kriss, senior Lauren Trejo, and junior Waverly Hassman, secured first place with a combined time of 8:45.78. This performance broke both the Northeastern school record and the NEICAAA indoor meet record for the event.

In individual events, Lauren Trejo placed sixth in the mile with a time of 4:59.92. Junior Brittani Westberry competed in the 500 meters and finished with a time of 1:18.84.

The Huskies are scheduled to compete next at the UCF Black & Gold Relays on March 20 in Orlando, Florida.

The Northeastern track and field team started their weekend at the Raleigh Relays with several strong performances. Graduate student Kyle Sarney finished ninth in the steeplechase while other athletes posted competitive times across multiple events.
