The Northeastern men’s and women’s track and field teams began their busiest weekend of the season on April 16 at the Wake Forest Invitational and the Virginia Challenge.
The events mark a significant stretch for the Huskies, who are competing across multiple venues in an effort to build momentum as the season progresses.
At the Virginia Challenge, Matthew St. Cyr was Northeastern’s only competitor, finishing 11th in the javelin with a throw of 54.58 meters. At the Wake Forest Invitational, Lola Satre Morales ran in the women’s 800-meter race, recording a time of 2:09.14. In men’s competition, Conall Rogers finished his 800-meter run in 1:51.35 while Brady Danyluk completed his heat with a time of 1:53.81. Ryan Slaney concluded day one for Northeastern by running the men’s 10,000 meters in a time of 30:14.14.
Competition will continue for Northeastern at both ongoing meets—the Virginia Challenge and Wake Forest Invitational—while additional athletes are set to compete at two more events on Friday, April 17: the MIT Sean Collier Invitational and UConn Northeast Challenge.
The coming days represent an important opportunity for team members to post qualifying marks ahead of championship season.
