The Northeastern track and field team saw several athletes achieve first-place finishes at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational, held Saturday at Boston University. The event featured strong performances from both the women’s and men’s teams, with numerous podium placements across various disciplines.
On the women’s side, junior Savannah Blair won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.50 seconds in the finals. Freshman Anaya Jones and Victoria Knight followed closely behind, finishing fifth and sixth respectively. Blair also finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 23.98 seconds.
Freshman Lola Satre Morales earned third place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.44, while junior Waverly Hassman placed sixth. In distance events, junior Keira Gamily finished second in the 5000 meters.
Junior Camryn Cole secured third place in the 60-meter hurdles and later added a runner-up finish in the long jump. Freshman Ogechi Nathan contributed by placing sixth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
The Huskies’ distance medley relay team took second place, while senior Mia Belanger tied for third in the high jump. Junior Katie Rodriguez tied for second in pole vault, with junior Cassandra Cinzori finishing fifth.
Senior Leila Curtis delivered a winning performance in shot put with a throw of 14.89 meters, and senior Liangie Calderon placed fourth in weight throw.
For the men’s team, freshman Raymond Felton III took third place in both the 60-meter dash and 200 meters. Sophomore Taeshawn Berry placed fifth in the 60-meter dash, while Daeshaun Cole was fourth in the 200 meters.
Freshman Brady Danyluk finished fourth in the 800 meters. Graduate student Kyle Sarney claimed victory in the mile with a time of 4:00.39, while graduate student Ryan Slaney was among the top collegiate competitors despite placing fourteenth overall.
In relays, Brunner Williams, Brady Danyluk, Ajay Raina, and James Ciaccio secured third place for Northeastern’s 4×400 relay squad.
Field events saw graduate student Max Zuckerman clear 4.50 meters for seventh place in pole vault. Freshman Logan Alfandari achieved Northeastern’s best field result on the men’s side by finishing third in weight throw; he also placed twelfth in shot put. Junior Aidan Moreau rounded out top results by finishing fifth in weight throw.
