The New England Patriots will be represented by quarterback Drake Maye and cornerback Christian Gonzalez at the 2026 NFL Pro Bowl. Their selections come during a strong season for the Patriots, who have secured a playoff spot and are close to winning their first AFC East title since 2019.
Drake Maye, chosen third overall in the 2024 draft, has exceeded early expectations in his second year. After starting 12 games as a rookie with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, Maye’s performance this season has established him as one of the top young quarterbacks in the league and an MVP contender.
Maye currently leads the NFL in completion percentage (70.9), yards per attempt (8.7), and QBR (73.4). He has thrown for 3,567 yards and 25 touchdowns, ranking fifth in both categories, with only eight interceptions. He also has 387 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. His playmaking ability has contributed to making the Patriots offense one of the most productive units in the league.
The Patriots’ history at quarterback includes Tom Brady, who made 14 Pro Bowls with the team, Drew Bledsoe with three appearances, and Steve Grogan from earlier decades. Maye’s rapid progress suggests he could become another key figure in that tradition.
Christian Gonzalez faced challenges this season after missing three games due to a hamstring injury suffered during training camp. Once back on the field, he demonstrated why he was a first-round pick in 2023 and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2024. His coverage skills have made him important to the Patriots defense.
Gonzalez follows other notable Patriots cornerbacks such as Ty Law, Stephon Gilmore—who won Defensive Player of the Year while with New England—and Malcolm Butler. With his selection, Gonzalez continues this legacy at cornerback.
This year’s Pro Bowl will be held at San Francisco’s Moscone Center during Super Bowl LX week and will feature a flag football format for its fourth consecutive year instead of a traditional game. The event is scheduled to air on ESPN on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel commented on what these selections mean for the team: “For us as an organization, seeing Drake and Christian recognized like this speaks to our commitment to developing talent and competing at a high level.”
With two young players earning Pro Bowl honors alongside a return to postseason play, many within the organization see these achievements as indicators of future stability for New England.
