Christian Gonzalez has earned his first career Pro Bowl selection. Drake Maye, meanwhile, is heading to the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive season. This marks a notable achievement for the Patriots’ younger players and comes as the team secures its first playoff appearance in four years.
Drake Maye’s back-to-back selections place him among a select group of quarterbacks in NFL history who began their careers with multiple consecutive Pro Bowl invitations. He joins Andrew Luck (three straight), Russell Wilson (four straight), and Dan Marino (five straight) in this category. Within franchise history, only Mike Haynes (five straight) and Curtis Martin (two straight) started their Patriots careers with at least two Pro Bowl selections.
Gonzalez is also recognized as the first Patriots defensive back to make the Pro Bowl since J.C. Jackson in 2021.
In the current season, Gonzalez has started all 12 games he played, recording 61 tackles and defending 10 passes while regularly facing top receivers from opposing teams. His contributions have helped New England achieve a seventh-place ranking in overall defense and maintain strong passing efficiency statistics.
Maye has led an offense that ranks sixth overall in the league and seventh in scoring. Individually, he leads all NFL quarterbacks in completion percentage at 70.9%, is third in passer rating at 108.5, and fourth in passing yards with 3,947.
