The Town of Canton announced on April 13 that water service will be temporarily shut down in certain areas on Tuesday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The affected locations include Washington Street from Pleasant to Randolph Street and First Parish Road.

The shutdown is necessary to allow the Water Department to make repairs at the intersection of Washington Street and First Parish Road. Residents in the impacted area are advised to prepare for this temporary disruption.

After water service is restored, officials ask residents to run a cold-water faucet—preferably in a bathtub or outside spigot—until any air is out of the lines and the water runs clear.

Updates about the work and restoration efforts can be found on the Town of Canton’s Public Works Construction Page.

The town has not indicated how long it will take for full pressure and clarity to return after repairs are completed, but encourages residents to check official updates as needed.
